With Valentine’s Day quickly approaching it is time to start planning. Every year tons of couples make reservations for a nice dinner at a restaurant but we wanted to do something a little different. Why not celebrate Valentine's Day with the one you love and the friends you love?!
A "Cocktails and Chocolate" inspired party is a great way to have your friends over for  Valentine's Day without breaking the bank. This brown and pink invitation by Tinyprints  is simple yet tasteful.

The way you set the scene is key to any party. These sparkly plates complimented by red roses creates the perfect mood with still being simple. Go with a unique color scheme like red and silver, instead of the the traditional red and pink.

Decorations also help set the scene. Be creative with them and even make them homemade. EAB Designs used paper wheels to make decorations that hung from a chandelier while Fun Family Crafts used recycled juice lids to create a Valentine's Day love sign. These Valentine's Day decorations are completely homemade and look adorable!

If you are choosing to serve dinner we have found two great recipes! Rachael Ray's pan seared scallops with pesto and tomato and Tyler Florence's spaghetti carbonara are easy to make and absolutely delicious.

You can't forget the cocktails! We have found some great Valentine's Day inspired drinks. This chocolate martini garnished with a heart strawberry can't get much cuter. Daydreamer Desserts created a red and white martini that is perfect and The Novice Chef even created a non-alcoholic red velvet cheesecake milkshake.

Of course the most important part of Valentine's Day, chocolate! Cupcakes are always a hit and this variety of flavors gives your guests lots of choices. Who doesn't love chocolate mousse and inside a heart makes it even more special.
