Today we wanted to showcase our passion for purple!

Some color experts will tell you that all colors have meaning and symbolism, which is mostly tied to psychology. Purple is a color that has royal qualities and also encourages creativity.  We think purple pairs well with golden metallics and wanted to share some party inspirations.

Decorate with Purple and Gold
Set the table with neutrals and purple accents. To create a festive look, decorative your party space with paper garland and tissue poms strategically hung in doorways or above food tables.

Coordinate the Party Food
Cabbage, fingerling potatoes and blueberries are great to add a purple splash to the menu. We've gathered tasty menu options to keep your guests coming back for more.

And don't forget to serve purple refreshments!

Purple Rain Martini
- 2 1/2 oz pomegranate-infused sake
- 2 1/2 oz pineapple juice
- 1/2 oz Chambord
Combine the infused sake, pineapple juice, and Chambord in a cocktail shaker filled with ice and shake vigorously. Strain into a chilled martini glass.
1 1/2 cups Over the Moon 1% Milk
3 tablespoons frozen grape juice concentrate (not diluted)
ice cubes
Blend until smooth. Serve and enjoy. For extra creaminess, replace the ice cubes with 1/2 cup fat free or lowfat vanilla frozen yogurt.

In the midst of all the wedding planning details one of the first big things you do is send a “Save the Date.” The Save the Date is a perfect way to get your guests just as excited for the wedding as you are.  It also gives a hint about the style of your wedding.

No matter how you say it, write it, or show it be creative with your Save the Date. There is no specific form you have to use when creating them. Have fun and make them as personal as you want.

We put together some of our personal favorite Save the Dates we found. They all share the message in a different way while still being creative and personal.

What is your favorite Save the Date? Picture or no picture? Magnet or card?

Escort cards make sure your friends and family make it to their perfectly arranged seats at your wedding. Instead of simply placing the cards on a table outside of your reception, we've pulled together our favorite ideas for escort cards as well as sharing ideas from our Real Weddings. They're all pretty and practical, and better yet, each totally fit with the wedding's theme.

This couple held their wedding at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. As part of the normal exhibit, these chess pieces are displayed in the musuem. Jacquelyn and Brian had a very artsy and vibrant wedding style so they chose to use these art pieces to display their escort cards. Brilliant!

What do you do with a bride that is obsessed with cupcakes? Use cupcakes as a way to display the guest escort cards! We worked with Kandace to ensure each of her guests had a cupcake waiting for them during the cocktail hour before the reception. Each cupcake held a custom escort card directing guests to their designated table at the reception.  Cute and edible :-)

There are so many creative ways to display escort cards at a wedding. See if you can find one that'll work for your wedding, or use these ideas as inspiration to create your own.
