This Savvy Saturday we selebrate…the beauty of mercury glass.
Mercury Glass Revival: Mercury glass, also known as silvered glass, which contains neither mercury nor silver is showing up throughout home and event decor. It is used in pretty Christmas ornaments, pedestal-footed silvered vases, candle holders and much more. Mercury glass is relatively inexpensive and it can add an antiqued metallic finish. Its' reflective and shimmery surface enhances candle light. Though not for food use, mercury glass is perfect for special event lighting and decor.

Do You Know? According to, mercury glass was known as "poor man's silver" in England, mercury glass provided an inexpensive alternative to the silver that furnished the houses and churches of the wealthy.

Here are some of our favorite shots of mercury glass used in decor.
